Don't you reckon the umpires should have gone upstairs for the Tendulkar run out?

No. Lee couldn't see him and satchin didn't run into him directly. Also he didn't have to change his running line very much at all and i think even if lee wasn't there he would of been out.Don't you reckon the umpires should have gone upstairs for the Tendulkar run out?
No, Lee was running towards the ball, then stopped as Warnr got there first. Bad luck but it was out.
It wouldn't have hurt to have it reviewed, but on looking at the replays, it wouldn't have changed the outcome, either. No UDRS either so the players couldn't appeal it.Don't you reckon the umpires should have gone upstairs for the Tendulkar run out?
No they shouldn't have. Brett Lee was a long way in front of Tendulkar so Tendulkar had ample distance to see Brett Lee's line and Brett Lee could not possibly have seen where Tendulkar was no matter how good his peripheral vision is.
Simon Taufel given Sachin straight out without considering the event as whole and without discussing it with another and third umpire (he did that in Aussie batting while field obstruction appeal). What was Brett lee doing in the path of running batsman. He was not even covering the ball. Warner stopped ball. Lee stopped Sachin. Sportsmanship hurted.

An experienced player like Lee (Age 35 ) knows well that on which path batsman will run, he don't needs to look at him. Sachin had to run in curve and hence failed to slide body.

Just leave lee, but Simon Taufel shouldn't give Sachin out blindly atleast discuss the matter with other Bowden. It was pathetic.

Umpire can discuss with other umpires and takes fair amount of time for decision but not when its subjects to Indian batsman.

Indian captain is supposed to show large heart and is asked for withdrawing appeal. But not Aussie captain is asked, and celebrations starts immediately after Simon Taufel giving straight out.

Un-understandable that Lee ( age 35 ) don't knows that where the batsman runs especially when he has bowled from one side of crease? Bowler is finishing his follow-through at one side of crease, other was for batsman. Where the batsman was supposed to run? On boundary ropes?

However Sachin is out now. Nothing can be done.Don't you reckon the umpires should have gone upstairs for the Tendulkar run out?
The technology is there, it should be used. In this case it would have further strengthened the decision.
Yeah sure, but it would have stayed the same.

Lee was stationary with his back to Sachin, its just one of those things in cricket that happens from time to time.
That is what was needed for the on field umpires to go upstairs, like they did with Hussey.

I am pretty clear that Tendulkar is out, he is gone, no good carrying on about it but its one thing to block a ball with your hand, as good as a football referee denying other team a penalty, just because the football was going to hit the opposition player in the ribs, that's bad umpiring.

Now when it comes to India's premier batsman's dismissal, an example of sportsman spirit could have been made here. First by umpires, they did discuss but they needed to take 3rd umpire's views as well. Which would have meant, disgruntled fans knowing that all the umpires were of the same view that Tendulkar made a mistake. If Lee's actions were innocent, he did obstruct a batsman, by sitting right in the middle, his Captain could have done the right thing or is it team India's duty to do the right things by other teams..
First of all, I would say a great Q jinxie. Unfortunately, I couldn't give more than 1 star.

And talking about the decision, I think as Watson is new as a captain, he didn't thought of taking back the decision. I personally think they should have taken the appeal back. Pity it's happening to India who took an appeal back against Sri Lanka and once called Ian Bell back from the pavilion in England. It's damn unfair. I totally support you that Lee didn't did anything wrong, but I support MBIOF in this one. Lee was not picking the ball neither was he covering the stumps. Then what the hell was that! Though it may not be intentional, but Lee shouldn't have been there.

This is what a user answered to one of the other Q:

"There is no 'Sachin' in australian team to understand the sportsmanship.

If there is a 'sachin' in australia team, he will definitely call the players back."

But according to the rules of cricket, Lee didn't did anything wrong.

Edit: Talking about David Hussey's incident, though as an Indian i wanted him to get out but I feel that decision was fair enough.
-%26gt; Bad umpiring. They didn't considered incident. Sachin is good runner between the wickets. To the users who suggesting he might have dived, "how come one will suddenly dive if a player obstructs him. (Not blaming brett lee here, He did it unknowing)"

-%26gt; Lack of sportsmanship in australian team.
Selfish was too lazy to run around.

Wen Warner picked up the ball he knew he was gone if the ball hit.
i think the decision is correct .Tendulkar running as a lazy boy
It was always going to be out so why bother taking it further?
Not at all. Sachin was way behind Lee, and made the situation look worse than it should have been.

Old man is way too slow for this form of the game.
